Morton’s Neuroma

In basic terms is a nerve impingement between the head of the metatarsals, causing pain, numbness and tingling in the forefoot. It is often made worse when wearing closed footwear.

Treatment: Will include a biomechanical, footwear and gait analysis assessment. Once the specific cause is located treatment can include offloading padding added to a simple insole. If the issue is faulty foot mechanics an orthotic may be dispensed. A change in footwear may be warranted if the shoe box of your current footwear is either too narrow or not deep enough to provide adequate spacing of your toes.

Early detection and intervention can have you pain free about 75% of the time with conservative care mentioned above.
